I round up some games to trade-in, Need for Speed: Carbon (Wii), Beatmania (PS2), and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Xbox) to be exact, and I went to my local Gamestop! It's amazing when you're handed a game that you've been waiting for since 1999! After opening it and reading the manual on the drive home to get psyched up, I installed it and go everything working.
First thing I do when I get a game working is try it online. I selected Automatch and was waiting to get connected, a couple of moments later, I get an error saying that it cannot connect to another player and I should open some ports and disable my firewall blah blah blah, usual stuff. Well, I exited, and realized this computer has been on a DMZ and every single port was open, and no firewall even installed besides the Windows XP one, but that was disabled, always been disabled. I figured it was just my computer, and rebooted.
I launch C&C3, and sit there in darkness for about two minutes until it finally loads up, and I try online again. Still no luck. I figured it was me, so I just tried to play single player missions for now. I was praying that the out of sync problem wouldn't transfer over from the demo to retail. Boy was I disappointed. Super horrible out of sync, worse than the demo occurred. So I stopped playing Campaign. Yes, I could of skipped the videos, but I have to have my videos. It's a C&C tradition!
I was fed up with it, and hit the EA Technical Forums. There was countless topics of “HELP ME! PLZ! ZOMG!”, literally. So, I couldn't play two sections of the game, a little disappointed but still excited I try out the Scrin during a Skirmish. The Scrin is nothing what I thought they would be. I thought they were gonna be “Money Makers”! The only Tiberium upgrade they have is the Growth Accelerator. Other than that, they're pretty cool, They feel like a very weak GLA from Generals, but hold the super power awards like China towards the end of a match. I'm still dieing to play the Campaign, but will have to wait. I've actually been able to sneak a couple of online matches here and there, won some, lost some. Overall, I give this game a 8.5 out of 10.
