Kane LIVES to lead NOD - New Trailer Released

****Breaking News - KANE is alive to lead NOD - New Trailer Released ****
--> Video Communication Anonymous Source Via Brotherhood of NOD <--

Just in Kane has surfaced alive and well, ready to lead NOD in fierce battle against the GDI in CNC3. In previous articles Mike Verdu focused on GDI but now finally we are getting to see the other side NOD! The new units for NOD look really nice and yes oh so EVIL. Mike Verdu described NOD as "Nod has the people, resources, organization, and raw military power necessary to stand against GDI and wage war on a global scale. Yet the Brotherhood of Nod isn't a country. It's a strange new hybrid organization that has the combined characteristics of a religious movement, a multinational corporation, and a nation-state." NOD is able to go against the worlds most powerful military and hold their own which is quite impressive. It really comes down to one major point on contension.

Trailer and full article available at: Gamespot

Stopping Tiberium (GDI)
vs.
Allowing Tiberium to Consume the World (NOD)

Neither side is willing to give ground and both sides believe their cause is the right cause to save the world and free the people of the other. A perfect setting for a very classic and nasty war. All that being said NOD just so happens to be run by the ever so charming psycho Kane who has resurfaced once again to take on GDI. He should be dead you say? Ahhhh well there may be some mystery behind how he came back. We really dont know but we are going to keep the door of possibilities open on that angle.

The video transmission from NOD:

"Welcome to the Brotherhood of Nod. You have joined a global order with millions of members all working together in harmony to unite the world in the name of peace and realize the true potential of mankind.

Our relationship with Tiberium has always been greatly misunderstood. Most people do not realize that the roots of our faith extend back several millennia, long before the emergence of the green crystal on Earth in 1995...an event prophesized by our great leader, Kane.

While the fascist political consortium of wealthy nations known as the Global Defense Initiative attempted to control the sacred green crystal, the Brotherhood worked tirelessly to acquire samples of the precious crystal...to study it, to unlock its potential as a new energy source, to explore its possibilities. Through our research and our faith, we have affirmed that Tiberium is the ultimate gift to mankind. It is the key to the future.

Our movement grew rapidly throughout the first decades of the twenty-first century. The mainstream media branded us as 'terrorists,' but we exposed GDI forces as the real criminals. They unilaterally redrew international border lines, relegating Nod followers into inhospitable yellow zone while they claimed the pristine and exclusive blue zones all for themselves.

Meanwhile, the Brotherhood champions the common people--the 80% of the world's population that struggles to get by in yellow zones torn by war, wracked by poverty, and abandoned by GDI. Using Tiberium to fuel and fund our efforts, Nod works tirelessly to bring order from the chaos. We make the streets safe, distribute food to the hungry, provide emergency medical care, minister to those who feel a spiritual vacuum, and inspire hope in people who would otherwise have none.

GDI casts itself as the world's guardian and savior, but it is neither. GDI is corrupt and unjust: 20% of the world's population--the most wealthy people on the planet--live in the blue zones, consuming the majority of the world's natural resources, wielding its vast military power to maintain the status quo by depriving the downtrodden of their god-given right to mine and exploit Tiberium.

The powerful oppress the weak in the hollow name of freedom and the only counter to GDI's power is the Brotherhood. Nod meets strength with strength in the name of peace and progress. Nod is the only hope against GDI tyranny. Brotherhood...Unity...Peace."

End Transmission

NOD blames GDI and GDI blames NOD but the reality is that Tiberium is slowly causing an ecological and worldwide disaster. NOD collects its memebers from the poor and desperate peoples of the world living in the difficult yellow zones.

Is NOD Capable?
Although it would appear that NOD's military is unorganized and weak it is actually quite the opposite. NOD is able to operate through a decentralized system in the decaying and crumbling cities found in yellow zones. It is able to move large armies or large distances un-detected by the best sensor equipment available.

NOD Army:
Fast, stealth, and a mix of highly trained and hastily put together infantry. NOD's army really represents its makeup of both sophisticated elite forces combined with guerilla poorly trained forces. NOD is not afraid to put it's soldiers at risk in order to gain added speed and power with it's weapons. The downside to this added ability is unstable and dangerous weapons. NOD also has new Tiberium based weapons that deal a lethal blow to anything that gets in their way.

NOD units include attack bikes, raider buggies, Scorpion tanks, latest-generation stealth tank, Vertigo batwig bombers, and VTOL Venom scout aircraft and the high end deadly avatar warmechs among other units. The avatar warmechs can actually use weapons systems from other units and incorporate into their own arsenal. In regards to infantry NOD has a grunt poorly trained militant force as well as highly trained elite forces such as black hand shock troops, and a hang-glider equipped shadow.

Coming Soon:
"And in the coming months, we will take the wraps off of our mysterious third faction."
- Mike Verdu

The message ended with:
"You cannot kill the Messiah..."
Our message to Kane - Welcome back!!!

Awesome new GDI screenshot from EA

Pure GDI beauty is the best way to describe it. Looking at this screenshot makes me wish I had the game already. There is quite a bit going on in this screenshot, I will go over what saw as noteworthy.
  • Your eyes go right to the Tiberium. From this shot you see the harvester hard at work and what I found intersting is that there is no problem with the builings being so close to the Tiberium. Looks like you can practically build your base around it.

  • Name that building - Actually we are not exactly sure what everything is but our guesses are: Tiberium Refinery, Missle Uplink, Base Defense Turrets, Power Plants, Barracks, Radar Tower, War Factory, Orca Pad, Construction Yard, and more...

  • Military Units - You can see a Predator Tank and a Mammoth tank rolling out of the War Factory, as well as some infantry units standing in formation. In the air you can see some Orca's flying around like hornets circling their nest. Out in the ocean you have a GDI transport vessle that appears to have two landing pads as well as capacity to store ground units. We are assuming the ship can get close to shore for loading.

  • Defense - The turrets are strategically placed, we count 7 in all. Wonder if a Mammoth tank would have much trouble one on one with a turret? Does it fire at air and land or just one?
So overall a real juicy screenshot that leaves you wishing for more. Thank you EA!

EA Starts Sharing Command and Conquer 3 Insider Info

There is a great new article out in Gamespot where Mike Verdu says "I'm excited that we can start sharing the details of what we've been working on all this time."

So about those details...

Much of it goes into the setting of the game which you guys probably already heard about. You know GDI, 2047, Tiberium infestation, etc etc. The good part begins when he starts to talk a little more about GDI actually does outside the blue zones. Apparently GDI actually goes into the yellow zones and works to contain Tiberium. This helps to improve the quality of life for the residents there but you have to remember that NOD has the upper hand in terms of gaining the peoples trust in this regard.

Mike goes on to talk about the speed and strength behind GDI. They are able to operate independently in "multiple theaters of war" with their rapid-deployment forces. These forces are able to operate in all types of terrain. The really interesting part comes when he mentions that GDI utilize their "all-weather weapon systems..." This could simply mean weapons that can operate in all environments or it could mean much more. Also included where some great screenshots!

Ground Forces Mentioned are:
  • Predator Main Battle tank
  • Mammoth Heavy Tank
  • Juggernaut Mobile artillery unit
  • Fast moving lightly armored combat soldiers
  • Special Forces Commando
  • Elite Sniper Teams
Air Units:
  • Rocket-Equiped VTOL Orca
  • Firehawk Fast Attack Jet
  • V-35 OxVTOL transport
Support Units
  • MCV - Mobile hub for forward operating base
  • Rig - Versatile vehicle that can deploy and repair a base
So it looks like there were some really juicy tidbits in Mike's latest release. Thanks EA
